Did you know?

A young gourd about the size of an apple, with pale green, downy skin. In India and Pakistan it is fried with spices or added to curries, and its skin is thin enough to leave on. Only the young fruits are eaten.

Consumption tip

Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
