How Is a Fairtrade Certificate Obtained?

Fairtrade certification is carried out through the producer organization's or company's application, audit and monitoring.

The process begins with the producer organization or company applying to an authorized fairtrade body. Compliance with social, economic and environmental criteria is assessed.

Independent auditors examine on site whether payments, working conditions and the supply chain comply with the standard.

When the criteria are met, the certificate is issued and maintained through regular audits.
