Logos from recognized kosher bodies, above all the OU (Orthodox Union), help a product gain acceptance in international markets.

There are hundreds of kosher certification bodies worldwide, but some stand out for international acceptance. The best known is the US-based OU (Orthodox Union), represented by a U inside a circle and one of the most widely recognized kosher marks globally.

Besides the OU, the symbols of bodies such as OK Kosher, Star-K and Kof-K are also trusted in major retail chains and export markets. Which body to choose is often determined by the target market and the buyer's requirements.

A certificate from a recognized body eases entry into markets such as the US, Europe and Israel without needing extra approval. For exporters, therefore, the choice of body is as important as the certificate itself.
