Differences Between Natural and Organic Cosmetics

Natural cosmetics are based on ingredients being predominantly natural-origin. Organic cosmetics additionally require that a certain proportion of ingredients come from certified organic farming.

For example, COSMOS 'Natural' and 'Organic' levels reflect this difference; the organic level includes higher thresholds.

A product being 'natural-content' does not automatically make it organic; the measure is the level of the certifying standard.
