Did you know?

A fruit whose thick, resinous rind encloses a white, intensely aromatic and acidic pulp, and which is usually cracked open by striking it on the ground. Because of its acidity the pulp is eaten less often raw than as ice cream, preserves and desserts. It is among the most commercially valuable native fruits of the Amazon.

Consumption tip

Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
