Did you know?

The fruit of a low plum shrub that grows on sea dunes, small and dark purple. Eaten fresh it puckers the mouth, so almost all of it becomes jam and jelly. It is a traditional foraging fruit along the northeastern coast of the United States.

Consumption tip

Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
