Did you know?
A chilli no bigger than a fingertip that stands upright on the plant and is intensely hot. It is the basic source of heat in Thai, Vietnamese and Indonesian cooking, used fresh, dried and as a paste. Its name comes from the sharp tip that recalls a bird's beak.
Consumption tip
Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
