Did you know?

A winter radish with black skin, pure white flesh and a bite markedly sharper than the red radish. In central and eastern European cooking it is grated into salads or pickled, and it keeps for months in a cool store. Its pungency sits mostly in the skin, so peeling mellows it.

Consumption tip

Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
