Did you know?

Grown for the seed inside the stone of its mango-like fruit; dried and ground, this seed thickens the Nigerian soup called ogbono and gives it a characteristic draw. Its fat content is high. The flesh of the fruit is also eaten, sweet-sour.

Consumption tip

Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
