Did you know?

A spice from the seeds inside a gourd-like fruit, recalling nutmeg but sharper, grated as ehuru into Nigerian soups and rice dishes. It is not botanically related to true nutmeg. The seed is roasted, then the shell is cracked and the kernel used.

Consumption tip

Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
