Did you know?

The bulb of a blue-flowered lily and a staple food of the Indigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwest. Raw, it holds indigestible inulin, so it is baked in an earth oven for a day or two to convert it to sugars. ⚠️ The white-flowered death camas grows in the same meadows and is lethal; the two can only be told apart in flower.

Consumption tip

Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
