Did you know?

A green, flattened fruit with a scalloped edge that recalls a small clay water vessel, which is what its Indigenous name means. It is too acidic to eat raw and is turned into syrup, liqueur and desserts. It is treated as a symbol of the threatened forest around São Paulo.

Consumption tip

Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
