Did you know?

From the same family as the mulberry, it is red and knobbly, looking like something between a fig and a mulberry. The taste is distinctly sweet with a fig-like note, and it contains small seeds. In China its leaves have also been used to feed silkworms.

Consumption tip

Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
