Did you know?

Covered in tiny globules, this dark red-purple fruit has been cultivated in southern China for over a thousand years. It keeps only a few days after picking, so the harvest turns into a local festival; the large stone is not eaten.

Consumption tip

Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
