Did you know?

A yellow, intensely fragrant fruit that resembles quince but belongs to a different genus; it is woody and astringent and is never eaten raw. In Korea it is sliced and steeped in honey for the hot drink mogwa-cha, and in China it is boiled into syrup. A ripe fruit scents a room for weeks.

Consumption tip

Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
