Did you know?

A yellowish fruit that resembles a date without being related to one, bitter-sweet in taste, from a tree that stays in leaf year-round in arid country. The pulp is eaten raw and the kernel is pressed for oil. Its drought tolerance makes it an important food source in the Sahel.

Consumption tip

Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
