Did you know?

A plant that closely resembles the banana but whose fruit is not eaten; the pulp scraped from its stem and corm is fermented for months into a dough called kocho. It is the staple of millions in southwestern Ethiopia and, for its drought tolerance, is called the tree against hunger.

Consumption tip

Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
