Did you know?

The dark green, thick and tough leaves of a rainforest vine, known as okazi, afang or eru. Because they are so tough they are shredded hair-thin and stewed with oil and ground nuts. Gathered from the wild in Cameroon and Nigeria, the plant is declining from over-harvesting.

Consumption tip

Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
