Did you know?

The root of a subarctic tundra legume; Alaska Native people also gather it in spring from the caches that voles lay up for winter. It is eaten raw or cooked, tasting between carrot and radish. ⚠️ The root of its close relative, wild sweet pea, is toxic, so the two must be told apart.

Consumption tip

Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
