Did you know?

The wild relative of the cultivated button mushroom, appearing in rings on manured grassland after rain, with a markedly deeper flavour than the cultivated form. ⚠️ When young its white cap can be confused with deadly Amanita species; the gills turning pink then brown, and flesh that does not yellow when cut, are the marks to look for.

Consumption tip

Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
