Did you know?

A fruit the size of an orange with grey-brown skin, whose flesh softens and grows pungent as it ripens. In Brazil it is made into liqueur, syrup and sweets. Juice from the unripe fruit stains skin a blue-black that lasts several days, and Amazonian peoples use it as body paint.

Consumption tip

Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
