Did you know?

The warm-climate relative of the jujube, with thin skin and white, crisp flesh tasting somewhere between apple and date. It is eaten fresh, and also dried or salted as a snack. Because it thrives on dry soils it is an important fruit across arid South Asia.

Consumption tip

Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
