Did you know?

Botanically it is not a berry but a cone of fleshy scales, and it takes two years to ripen. It is the spice that gives gin its name and aroma, and in Europe it seasons game dishes. The cones of some juniper species are not edible.

Consumption tip

Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
