Did you know?

A dark-leaved shrub known as cekur manis in Indonesia and Malaysia; the leaves taste of green peas and are cooked in soups. Warning: heavy consumption of raw juice was linked to lung problems in Taiwan in the 1990s, whereas traditional use is cooked and moderate.

Consumption tip

Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
