Did you know?

Its ripe flesh is bright orange, dry and mealy, and it is used dried and milled into powder more often than eaten fresh. In Peru it is among the most common flavours for ice cream and desserts, and it appears depicted on ancient pottery.

Consumption tip

Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
