Did you know?

A trailing legume of the sandy Kalahari, of which both the oil-rich seeds and the large underground tuber are eaten. Roasted, the seeds taste much like peanuts and are high in protein and fat. Its drought tolerance makes it an important traditional food of the region.

Consumption tip

Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
