Did you know?

A forest mushroom that lives in partnership with pine roots and cannot be cultivated, so it is only ever foraged. In Japan its aroma, described as between cinnamon and pine, commands very high prices; it is sliced thin for steamed dishes and rice. The scent opens up with heat.

Consumption tip

Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
