Did you know?

A round, brown-skinned fruit of the gourd family, sold almost entirely in dried form. Its sweetness comes not from sugar but from compounds called mogrosides, which is why it is used as a source of calorie-free sweetener. In China it is traditionally simmered and drunk as an infusion.

Consumption tip

Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
