Did you know?

A classic fruit of Aboriginal Australian cooking. Its bright red, tart flesh is eaten fresh or dried, and once dried it keeps for years, which made it a desert travelling food. The tree is a hemiparasite that taps neighbouring plants through its roots.

Consumption tip

Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
