Did you know?

A herb whose small, saw-toothed leaves smell of cucumber, and a classic salad plant of medieval European gardens. The leaves are used raw, as cooking drives off the scent. It stays green through winter, supplying fresh greenery in the cold months.

Consumption tip

Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
