Did you know?
A small green pepper with thin, wrinkled skin that is usually mild; its name comes from the tip's resemblance to a lion's head. In Japan it is blistered whole over a flame and eaten with salt. It is well known that roughly one pepper in ten turns out unexpectedly hot.
Consumption tip
Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
