Did you know?

A white, translucent fungus that looks like lace; it is sold dried and unfolds in layers once soaked. It has almost no taste of its own and is used for its gelatinous texture, most often simmered in sweet Chinese dessert soups.

Consumption tip

Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
