Did you know?

The yellow, velvety and very juicy fruit of a tree in the myrtle family, its name meaning sour fruit in the Indigenous Tupi language. The skin is so thin that the fruit crushes in the hand, which keeps it off markets and turns most of the crop into juice. Its scent falls between apricot and orange.

Consumption tip

Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
