Did you know?

A round fruit with a grey, wood-hard shell that is difficult to crack, holding a brown, paste-like pulp with a pungent smell. In India and Sri Lanka it is made into drinks and chutney. It is often confused with bael, but belongs to a different genus.

Consumption tip

Even natural produce may carry pesticide residues. Wash fruits and vegetables under plenty of running water and discard the outer leaves of leafy greens. A short soak in vinegar water can also help reduce residues. Where possible, prefer certified organic or good-agricultural-practice products.
