Food Inspections Continue Without Pause During Ramadan
The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry announced that official controls at food production, retail and mass catering businesses are being intensified throughout Ramadan. Inspectors check hygiene, storage conditions, label information and expiry dates across many product groups, especially bread and pide, desserts and pastry products, and meat and dairy products. Samples are taken for laboratory analysis where necessary, and Ramadan food parcels are also examined for their contents, labelling and expiry dates. The Ministry restated its zero tolerance approach to food safety and reminded consumers that complaints can be reported through the Alo 174 Food Line.
