How Is an Organic Certificate Obtained?

Organic certification is carried out through application to an authorized body, a production plan, on-site inspection and residue analyses.

The process begins with an application to an authorized control and certification body. The producer submits an organic production plan covering land, inputs and production methods.

The body inspects the production area on site; residue analyses may be performed on soil, water and product samples. Once the transition period is complete and the criteria are met, the certificate is issued.

The certificate is ongoing; annual renewed audits confirm continued compliance. In Türkiye the process follows the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry regulations.
